1. Metallurgical Industry

  • Stainless Steel Production: Chromium is a key component (typically ≥10.5%) that forms a passive oxide layer to prevent rust.

  • Special Alloys: Used in nickel-based and cobalt-based superalloys for aircraft engines, gas turbines, etc.

  • Ferrochrome Alloys: Produced via electric furnace smelting (high-carbon/low-carbon ferrochrome) to enhance steel hardness and corrosion resistance.

2. Refractory Materials
